A FRIEND OF MINE WAS BULLIED AT THEIR LAST SCHOOL
Bullying is not nice, can be very upsetting and means you can stop enjoying being at school. That is why we take it very seriously. We realise that bullying can take many different forms. There is obviously the physical sort where someone hits you but the more common sort is where one or more pupils make nasty comments about you or tries to break up your friendship with another person.

Our staff are very approachable. You can decide which one you feel easy about talking to the most. In one of the toilets that the whole school uses we have something called a "bully box". It is a small box on the wall that has a little sign on it that says that if anyone is bullying you and you do not feel able to talk to anyone about it, just write it down on a piece of paper and post it in the box. No one can see who puts anything in the box because it is in the toilet cubicle.

Any school which tells you that there is no bullying in their particular school either is lying or does not know what goes on. However at Queen Ethelburga's College we think we react quickly to stop the rare cases of bullying. Our staff are trained how to spot bullying and how to go about solving the problems. QE does not tolerate bullying in any form. If you were bullied at your old school we hope you will find our approach refreshing and reassuring.
