Both
charts exclude any costs involved with an overnight stay or food. Transportation
costs for horses and rider/spectator below have been subsidised by the
Charitable Foundation. If a student/parent does not accept the prices
quoted below, or if their own particular horse does not like travelling
in a horse trailer, then a horse box would need to be hired with driver
from an outside commercial company. In such cases market rates apply.
The cost of one day's hiring would be approx between £100 to £175
dependent on what is available. Such cost cannot be put on the school
general fees account. The cost can be put against a show account if it
is in sufficient credit. The cost could be shared between a number of
students. The ability to book a commercial box is not guaranteed and is
dependent on normal market forces of supply and demand. Further the College
has no control over such commercial horse box operators and cannot vouch
for the quality of safety, maintenance, insurance or whether the driver
has been "vetted" as all school staff automatically are.
