CARS
-STUDENTS
Day
pupils who have passed the driving test may drive a car to and from school
and park it in Car Park B. Proof of driving license, insurance details,
MOT and registration documents are to be shown to the Head Teacher.
Boarders
may drive to and from school on Sunday and Friday evenings provided they
have a full driving licence. Cars are to be parked in Car Park H.
Sixth
Form students may drive locally during the week, or at weekends, only
by specific agreement with the Head Teacher. No liability can be accepted
by the school for loss or damage however caused. If you wish your child
to drive a car at school please complete Annex A.
CIGARETTES,
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
If
a parent has given written permission, a member of Sixth Form can use
the smoking room. It is against school rules for any lower forms to bring
cigarettes to school or smoke on campus -so we ask parents to please check
their children's luggage to ensure they are not bringing cigarettes to
school at the beginning of term, after half-term or weekend at home. No
pupil is allowed to bring alcohol onto school premises. There is a licensed
bar which Sixth Form may, on occasions, be able to use (no spirits are
served to Sixth Form). Bringing prohibited drugs onto school premises,
or the consumption of drugs, is the quickest way to be expelled. The College
operates a hair testing system if there is a suspicion of drugs - this
system is expensive but fool-proof. If you suspect your child of taking
drugs please tell us. Together we can resolve this problem. At worst drugs
can kill, at least they can screw up a young life.
