Bullying. We are very proud of our reputation as a caring, family community and we do not tolerate bullying in any form. There is a bully box, situated in the toilet opposite Mr Jandrell's office, where you can privately bring to the Head Teacher's attention anything causing you concerns. It is essential all matters of concern be brought to the attention of Mr Jandrell, the Head of Boarding, or your own House Parent (if a Boarder) or Form Tutor (if a Day Pupil).
In trouble. It is particularly important for you to realise that if you are in trouble over something you can have your form Tutor, or a friend with you when you are talking with your House Parent or the Head Teacher.
What happens if you want to make a comment about something? Sometimes you may feel that you would like to make a comment on something that is worrying you. This might be about how you are being treated. The first thing you should do is to speak to any member of staff you trust (eg House Parent or Form Tutor), you can have a friend with if you if you wish - another pupil, an older pupil or another member of staff.
If the matter cannot be easily settled, then you can make a formal representation. You will need to tell your House Parent, Form Tutor or the Head Teacher or write to them, then:
You will get a note back saying that your comments have been received and seen and that is is being attended to within 2 school days. You will then be asked to talk to the Head Teacher and you can have a friend with you who may be another pupil, a senior, your Form Tutor or any member of staff. If within two more days you have not had the matter satisfactorily sorted out, you may contact any of the people whose name is listed on page one. Whoever you contact can speak to you at school and you will be advised about what to do; it will then be up to you to make a final decision.
