An opportunity for specialist study in Art and Design which is open to anyone who enjoys practical art activities. During the course you will be required to respond to a variety of Art and Design assignments, where you will be expected to develop your own ideas as well as have the imagination, vision and energy to make them happen.

Different Art and Design assignments are set each half term, addressing particular GCSE assessment objectives. Over the duration of the course this allows you to build up an impressive portfolio of Art and Design work as well as to develop confidence in your own ability.

At the very end of the course, in June of your final year, you will then mount an Exhibition of your course artwork for assessment by a visiting examiner. This assessment counts as 60% of your overall GCSE grade. A Terminal Examination accounts for the other 40%. Edexcel Syllabus 1000
