We were originally established in 1912. For over eight decades we have faithfully served the needs of British Forces parents desiring a high quality, friendly and caring boarding education for children. Over the years we have changed some things and others remain unaltered. We have invested over £45,000,000 in recent years to ensure our teaching resources are top class.
Our boarding standards are the best available in the UK and Europe. No other independent school offers as high a range of boarding facilities as we do. What has not changed is our understanding of the individual needs of British Forces parents and their children. We are not embarrassed to say this falls in the category of TLC - tender, loving care.
We have our own Combined Cadet Force - CCF. The Combined Cadet Force provides an organisation based on the concepts of discipline and training within ehich boys and girls may develop qualities of leadership, responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefullness and endurance.
The training demonstrates why Defence Forces are needed and how they function. However, the CCF is not just about military training - pupils have the opportunity, especially in summer, to take part in practical leadership exercises outside, where they work as a team, building bridges, crossing shark-infested chasms or rescuing injured pilots! These activities help to broaden their knowledge, self-confidence and leadership skills, and gain many skills that they can use throughout their lives. All said and done, our CCF is great fun and is considered a 'must do' for many students at the Collegiate.
